Act as A repositoryThanks to the generosity of many study investigators, the database that underpins our resource has been supplied with prevalence data that is much more detailed than was available in the published outputs from these studies. Generally speaking, the more detailed/granular the data, the more precise the estimates will be. These investigators have provided more granular data yet the actual participant-level data has not been shared.

Indeed this was not requested. The group is considering requesting data at participant level. This is particularly important when considering risk factors and less common causes of vision impairment.
As time passes following the completion of a study, it becomes increasingly difficult to gain access to these population datasets, as investigators move institutions, computer technology becomes obsolete, etc. Familiarity with the organisation of the data also wanes.
Study investigators that have provided more detailed data than was available from the published outputs are listed in this link.
